Time to Organize & Get Ready for the New Year

Hi everyone...the holidays are almost over and it's time for some resolutions...realistic ones. Mine are mostly about crafty things. I need to do a few things...like...

...get better organized. I have already started with this one. I rearranged one of my favorite desk-top storage pieces. This great little thing is actually from Pampered Chef and I love it!

I've actually rearranged it again since this picture was taken. :) I have all my paint brushes, markers (excluding Copics) and all sorts of other crafty goodness in it. Next I will be reorganizing all my stamps...and I will show those to you in an upcoming Youtube video. (It's going to take me several more days to get that done.)

While reorganizing them I am going to go through all my stamps (mostly my Close To My Heart ones) and sell all the ones I haven't been using very much. (Yep, that's another Youtube video coming up.)

I am also going to go through all my inks and probably sell or give away the ones I don't use much.

As you may have figured out, I really want to go through all my crafty supplies and get rid of the things I am not using. I am sure I will find most of it a good home with some other crafty people.

I also want to try some new things this year...like art journaling, more jewelry making and hopefully some altered art items. I want to have fun with art again. Too much of what I did in 2012 was about what I felt I had to do as opposed to what I wanted to do. I enjoyed it but I need a change.

I also want to make an effort to get healthier this year...not only for myself but for my family. Most of all I want learn to be happy with what I have...great husband, wonderful kids...all in all a really good life.

So...enough about me...what are your resolutions? Whatever they are...I wish you luck and a Happy New Year!

I am back!!!

Ok everyone...first I have to begin with an apology. I am so sorry I have been so bad about blogging. It just seems a little silly to me to blog about things I have already shown in a video on my YouTube channel. So I am back with a plan. I am going to try to show you little extras here...like a card I didn't show on a video or a project just for this blog. Maybe we will even talk about other stuff besides crafty things. Who knows? Let's wait and see what happens. :)

Sooooo...that being said...here is how I used the hearts I showed you on the Kat Scrappiness video I uploaded to my YouTube channel today!

And here is a close up of those cute hearts...

I hope you like it. Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope your day is filled with lots of crafty fun!

More Kat Scrappiness

Hi everyone! I am so sorry it has taken me a while to get a new blog posted. I just couldn't get my computer to cooperate. I actually still can't so I am posting this from my new IPhone. (My wonderful hubby bought it for me about a week ago and I LOVE it!!!)

I posted a video yesterday on my Youtube channel (AKCaraboo) that shows a couple of cards I created using some Kat Scrappiness goodness. But i had one more I wanted you share. And I already have another idea for those adorable little pockets from Kat Scrappiness!

I created a simple card using those felt jelly beans I love so much.

Check out the pic at the bottom of my post.

I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy cards. You can check out Kat Scrappiness by clicking on the badge/link on my blog.

Remember, there is a promo code right now that will get you 10% off your purchase.

Simple Bookmarks (Valentine's Project #11)

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post today...just wanted to share some little bookmarks I made for little gifts for friends for Valentine's Day. I have been reorganizing my stamps lately and have realized how many I have that I have not used. So in an effort to actually use some of my supplies I pulled out three new sets. Two of them are from Papertrey Ink. Those sets are Background Basics: Circles and Stitches and Swirls. If you are interested in checking out Papertrey Ink, the online store can be found here. The other set I used was from Hero Arts and it is called Untitled Heart. Since these are going to be used as bookmarks I only used stamps to jazz up the tags.

Here they are:

I know they are very simple but I still think they are very sweet!

I realize that Valentine's Day is just two days away but I have finished three more cards that I will be sharing over on my Youtube channel (AKCaraboo) tomorrow. If you are interested you can check them out here.  So...14 projects done!

Altered Purse

Hi everyone!

Many of you may know...if you watch my videos...that I received a really adorable altered purse from Brandy over at Mini Album Scraps for a swap we participated in.

Here's a picture of it:

So cute, right?! Brandy is so talented.

I had just bought a couple of paper mache purses right before I received the one from Brandy. So I decided to be brave and alter one of the purses.

Here's what I came up with:

I really wanted to use that gorgeous brown flower you see on the purse. It's from Kat Scrappiness, an esty store you can find here.

Here is a close-up of that flower:

It's sooo pretty! I have been looking for a way to use one of those in a project and this purse seemed perfect for it.

I have uploaded a video showing how I created this purse on my Youtube channel (AKCaraboo). You can find the video here . I also have uploaded a video on my new die storage organization. I am so thrilled with it!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Something new...a charm bracelet

Hi everyone!

I need to begin with an apology to those that actually read my blog. I haven't been very good about updating it. I have been uploading videos to Youtube instead. I really should do both...so here's my promise to try harder. :)

I was doing a swap over at Mini Album Scraps for Valentine's Day and I decided to try my hand at making a charm bracelet.

What do you think?

Here are some close-ups:

I also did a video with some tips on how I made it. You can find this video here. I enjoyed making it so much that I think I may see if there are any local classes on jewelry making. I would like to learn a little bit more about putting the pieces together.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Series - #1

Hello everyone!
One of my resolutions this year was to use more of my supplies...don't get me wrong...I will still be buying some new crafty goodies from time to time. But I have soooo many supplies that I have never reached for...stamps, paper pads...you name it. So I decided one good way to use some of these supplies was to do a series of projects for Valentine's Day. It will probably be mostly (if not all) cards, depending on how much time I have to complete all of my ideas.

So here is card #1:

And here is a close up of the adorable felt puppy dog I used on the card:

These cute felt embellishments can be found at Kat Scrappiness on etsy here. I posted a video on Youtube which shows you how easy this card was to create using those cute felties. The video can be found here on my Youtube channel AKCaraboo. I list all the supplies I used in that video.

I also recently posted a couple videos showing a mini book/junk journal organizer I created. I had such a good time doing it and there is a little of Kat's felt goodness in there too. If you are interested in making one, I am hosting a swap over at Mini Album Scraps which is a wonderful online crafty community. The swap can be found in the Junk Journal Group. Come on over and check us out! :)

As always, thanks for stopping by!
