Hi everyone!
Just a quick post...I hope you are all enjoying your holidays!! Christmas was a lot of fun...Santa was very generous this year but I am looking forward to a quiet three-day weekend. We have no big plans for the New Year's weekend...hubby has to work, our oldest went back to college this morning so it will be just me and my Kassi girl. We plan to relax, maybe take in a movie...and I plan to do crafty things, of course. :) I am getting ready to update and reorganize some of my supplies and I am planning on sharing what I come up with...need to start the new year off right!
So after my oldest took off this moring (& I got home from work) I cleaned up my craft room (where the kiddo was staying) and decided I needed a crafty fix. So I got out some of the goodies Kat sent me and came up with a couple of quick cards.
I have posted a video on my Youtube channel which you can find here. Please check out it to see the cards I created today.
All of Kat's felt goodies can be found at her etsy store, Kat Scrappiness here.
As always...thanks for stopping by!

More Kat Scrappiness Goodness!!
Happy Holidays!
I just couldn't resist taking a break from all the holidays "stuff" - baking, wrapping, etc. - to make a couple more cards using some of Kat's adorable felties. I am (thankfully) done with all my Christmas cards (& they are in the mail!!!) but I wanted to get a few cards ready for after the holidays.
Here are a couple that I came up with pretty quickly today:
Those adorable little felt snowflakes can be found here at Kat's etsy store. The pattern paper, cardstock, buttons and twine are all from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment stamp is from WPlus9 and the punch is from EK success.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday...as always thanks for stopping by!

A Trio of Trees...Christmas trees that is...
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. I still have a couple of presents to buy and ALL of them to wrap but I am almost done. And this weekend is our baking weekend. I usually make several different types of cookies and candies but this year I am keeping it simple. We picked three of our favorites and we are going to make BIG batches of them. Can't wait...what are your holiday favorites?
I have news...happy news...I was chosen to be a member of the first design team for Kat Scrappiness!! Kat has an Etsy store (which you can find here) and she makes adorable felt embellishments. I have three new cards to share with you using them.
The third card you can see on my Youtube video (along with these two) here. The video also shows all the goodies from my first design team package. Kat allowed all of us to choose what we wanted for our first design team package. It was so fun to go to her store and choose the felt goodies we wanted!!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Felt Embellishments
Hi everyone! I actually managed to get a couple of cards done...well more than a couple but I can't show some them to you because they are for upcoming birthdays. :) (I will post them later.) I recently got some really adorable felt embellishments from on etsy seller (http://www.KatScrappiness.com) and I had to put them to use.
Here is the first one I made:
This is actually a birthday card for my mother...she never uses a computer so I think it's safe to show you this one. The cardstock (Sweet Blush) and stamps (Button Boutique) are both from Papertrey Ink. The brown piece behind the button card is actually glossy paper covered with distress inks (Antique Linen and Frayed Linen). I used the technique I showed here in this video. Here is a close up of that cute little felt flower.
Super sweet, right?
Here's the second card I made using some of the felt goodies:
The snowflake is HUGE!! That card is 5" x 5". You can't really tell but the white felt has little flecks of glitter in it...so pretty. I have an additional card in mind for another one of these snowflake then I think the rest will be saved for layouts. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny and the cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. The stamps (sentiment and snowflake) are from WPlus9. You will probably be seeing more of these stamps as they may be my new addiction...they are soooo adorable.
Please let me know if you have any questions and as always...thanks for stopping by!

Sweet 16!
Today is my baby girl's birthday and she is 16! We celebrated on Saturday and I wanted to share the cards I made for her. I have to admit...I made the cards at the last minute. I remembered a card I had seen on Dawn McVey's blog, which you can find here. Check out her post for November 9th...love that doily card and just had to "lift" the idea. I think it turned out pretty cute.
My second card was for my hubby to give her and he wouldn't want anything too frilly...so here's a simple card I came up with for him.
Simple and sweet, right?
It seems like yesterday she was just a baby...
And here she is now...
...with her new birthstone ring. (Don't let the hair fool you...she's still a blond. She just wanted to try being a brunette.) She a wonderful, dramatic, bright, caring (did I say dramatic) teenage girl and her father and I love her very much!! Happy Birthday Kassi!
Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Post #2 for today - swaps
Hello again! I just finished my swaps for Mini Album Scraps. Hopefully they will go out in the mail tomorrow. (I fell and hurt my knee this Friday so I am moving more slowly than normal.) I am participating in three swaps. The first is the Package Tag Swap with the theme, naturally, being Christmas.
Here's mine:
I also participated in the recipe swap. And here is the front and back of mine.
The back opens up and has the recipe inside. All the dies I used were from Papertrey Ink. The paper was a paper pad from K & Company called Pepperment Twist which is an older collection. I used Perfect Pearls and Viva Decor Pearl Pens to decorate the ornaments. The stamps are also from Papertrey Ink, except for the letters which are from Close To My Heart. If you are interested in the specific name or color of something leave me a comment and I will let you know what I used.
I have to admit that I had a really hard time with these swaps. My mojo was missing!! It took forever to get these done. That said...my last swap was the ornament swap and I got my idea from Betsy Veldman's blog which you can find here. Check out her beautiful card with the ornament and tiny tags...too gorgeous to pass up.
Here are my ornaments based on her creation:
I am sooo pleased with these...I think they are adorable. Again many of the products are from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the ornament shape with the Music Background stamp from Hero Arts. All the die-cuts you see are from Papertrey Ink, except the lacey circle background die which is from Spellbinders. Aren't those tiny tags adorable? All Papertrey Ink...and there will be another new tiny tags set released on the 15th (which Betsy shows off in her blog).
Well, that's it for me...hope my swap buddies like what I came up with...thanks again for stopping by!

A quick post
Hi everyone! I had actually intended to post this before my trip to Seattle but my computer would not cooperate...hate it when that happens. Anyway, as you may already know, I have added some videos to my YT channel, AKCaraboo. The cards shown below are some that I created using Perfect Pearls. To see how I used them please check out my video .
I hope you enjoyed them (& the video). Thanks for stopping by!

Moving on...to Christmas!
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic day! I have spent a big part of mine working on a mini-album for a friend for Christmas. I have been procrastinating on this thing for quite a while but I finally started it last night and made some good progress today. I will do a video at some point but probably won't post it until after the hoidays. ('Cuz it's a surprise!) I am using Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium for the album and so far it's looking pretty good. Especially considering it is only the second mini-album I have made.
Here is a little peak at one corner of the cover...there is lots of embellishing still to do...
My friend is very traditional in her taste so I think this paper will be perfect for her.
I also have some Christmas cards to share...yep, I started already. I decided that I wanted to give everyone their own original card so that means I need to get busy! I recently participated in Jennifer McGuire's Inspiration Showcase and wanted to try out some of those techniques.
Here's some pictures of the cards I created:
If you would like to see how I created the snowflake parts of all these cards please check out my video (Distress Ink Technique) on my Youtube channel AKCaraboo. The supplies I used are listed in the video.
Please forgive me for the various camera angles and lighting...I am trying to decide how I like to take my pictures. Let me know what you think if you have time!
Hope you have a great day and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Cards - Day 2
Hi everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying fall in your neck of the woods. My woods are already getting cold...winter is fast approaching. I always hope the snow will wait until after Halloween so the kiddos can do actual trick or treating. Many years it has been too cold or the roads are too slick. There are all sorts of indoor activities available here but nothing beats knocking on the door and saying "trick or treat!" I grew up in Arizona so weather was never an issue for me...in fact some years, we went home, dumped out our treats and went out for some more! So much fun!
When we had children of our own it was so fun to help dress them up and walk around with them. Some years, even are furry babies had costumes! Now our babies are too old for Halloween so we enjoy all the little ones that come knocking on our door. And of course, there are Halloween cards to be made for friends and family.
Here is the first I am going to share today:

Youtube Videos and Halloween Cards
Hello everyone! I am so sorry that I haven't been posting for a few weeks. I have been busy finishing swaps, learning how to work a new Sony Bloggie (love my hubby for getting it for me) and working on halloween cards.
My Youtube channel is AKCaraboo and I have posted 5 videos! (It took forever to figure out how to upload them.) I have shown some of my swap goodies, done a couple haul videos and a couple project videos. (Please be kind - remember I am a Youtube newbie.) I hope you like them and decide to subscribe to my channel. When I have 100 subscribers I will be doing a little giveaway!
I have also been busy making lots of Halloween cards. I kept them relatively simple since I needed to make so many. I will be showing them to you over the next two weeks.
Here's the first one:
Here's a close up:
And as promised, here is a list of the supplies I used:

Still swappin'!
Good morning everyone! It is very early in the morning (about 3:45 a.m.) as I type this but I can't sleep so I thought I would get up and get moving. First I want to give you an update to a swap that I showed you a few days ago. The first swap I signed up for was for jounaling tags over on A Lil Scrap of Heaven. I thought it sounded simple and pretty quick to complete. Well, for whatever reason, I had a lot of problems finishing this one up. I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do and I am still not sure mine was all that great. Anyway, even after I was done and I posted pics I wasn't completely happy with the tags and pocket I made. So I changed it up just a little.
I added a flower and attached the largest tag to the back of the pocket instead of the front. (The other two tags are inside the pocket.)
I think it looks better that way. Since I have a tendency to want to over-embellish, I mailed them off so I wouldn't add anything else to the pocket. (Believe me I was tempted!)
I also finished my gothic tags for a swap over on Mini Album Scraps. It really is more of a gothic glamour tag then anything else. I just couldn't seem to channel my inner Goth.
And here is the back.

I think it turned out pretty good. I just realized that I have not been listing the products I use for my projects. Since it is so early and I am losing that initial burst of energy I had - I am not going to start now. (Sorry.) I will add them to future posts. (Cross my heart etc.) If you have questions about any of the products I used on this or past projects please let me know.
One last thing - my wonderful husband, after listening to me ramble on about how I need a new camera to do videos and better posts, ordered a new camera for me. (He's definitely a keeper!) Something which will hopefully be very, very simple. So I am hoping to have videos and better pictures soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Charms, charms and more charms
Hi there! I have been busy trying to get some swaps done so I haven't done much posting but since I finished my latest charms I thought I would show them off a little! These are for a swap over on Life on the Scrapbeach.
Here it is on the simple tag I made.
The theme was the colors of royalty - dark purple, blue and burgundy. It's hard to tell with my photos but I did mine all in purple. I just couldn't seem to make the three colors work together. Then our very nice host suggested we make charms for all of us who have birthdays in September. Since I have a birthday this month and love to make charms I made them for all the birthday girls in the group.
And here they are on the tag.

Journaling Tag Swap
Hello there! Just finished my journaling tags and pocket for a swap over on A Lil Scrap of Heaven. I have never really made anything like this so I wasn't exactly sure of what I was doing. The only thing we really had to do was to make three tags and use fall colors. I made the pocket as a little something extra because my tags seem pretty simple. Here are the tags...
Here is a copy of the pocket I made...again pretty simple...
